The Eastside Area Community Foundation offers grants to
organizations within the DeKalb Eastern School District.
Clubs, classes and groups sanctioned by DeKalb Eastern School District
must complete and submit the 2022 Grant Application - School.
All other applicants should complete and submit the 2022 Grant Application.
Grant applications will be accepted through September 30, 2022. Awards will be announced following the Grant Committee’s decisions.
Eastside students were awarded $1,000 to purchase cans for the Canstruction competition. The students worked before and after school to design and build the display. The display was dismantled and transported to Glenbrook Mall where the students reconstructed it. Eastside's display contained over 4,500 cans that were donated to Community Harvest for distribution to food banks in Northeast Indiana.
An Eastside science class received $170 for the purchase of grow lights, timers, dirt and seed for their fresh vegetable project. Junior High students planted radishes, watered and charted the vegetables as they grew. After the radishes were harvested, students planted Marigold seeds and are charting the growth of the flower plants.
The Filling Station was awarded $2,000 for program expenses. The Filling Station program's goal is to address the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of young people by providing a facility for recreation, fellowship, fun and moral guidance to deter juvenile delinquency, youth violence, self-harming, drug/alcohol use, bullying and gang activity by preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ uncompromisingly.
Awarded $1,500 to be used for various activities during the 2022 Pickle Festival in St. Joe, Indiana. The 2022 Festival is schedule for July 14 - 16.
